It is my sad duty to present the following obituary to the readers of Robyn's Chat, as well as clients of Robyn's Web -Bob Spencer

GALESVILLE — Robyn Leigh Docken, 63, of Galesville died Saturday, May 29, 2010, while resting at the family home of Lynita and Mark Delaney. The birds were singing and gospel choir music was playing.

Born in La Crosse on Feb. 24, 1947, to Robert Grant and Elsie Finch Docken, Robyn was an excellent student and a talented musician. She attended University of Wisconsin-Ashand and University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. Robyn lived in Phoenix, Whitehall and Galesville. Her careers included that of a trucking company dispatcher and expediter, accountant, retail owner and owner of “Robyn’s Table Chat.”

Robyn played organ at First Presbyterian Church in Galesville from 1960 until 2010 except for the brief period when she lived in Arizona. She was an exceptional pianist and organist who accompanied musicians and singers of all ages and music genres. She was especially noted for her “rockin” jazz style and her trademark “gliss” (glissando).

Robyn founded the GET Area Gospel Choir in 1979. She also provided piano lessons for many of the GET children of all ages. Robyn enjoyed collecting sheet music and lectured on the sheet music history of the United States.

A good Scottish girl, Robyn was an avid curler at the Galesville, La Crosse and Centerville curling clubs and was an avid supporter of junior curling. Her favorite trip was to Germany where she cheered her niece, Laura, on to a bronze medal at World Junior Curling Championships. She also enjoyed golf at the Whitehall golf course.

Robyn loved children and directed several plays at GET Middle School and First Presbyterian Church.

A talented writer, she co-authored a family genealogy book with her Aunt Elizabeth “Betty” Docken. Copies are available from her sister, Lynita Delaney.

One of Robyn’s proudest achievements was that of her work as the editor, publisher and owner of “Robyn’s Table Chat,” a neighborhood publication that promoted local businesses, organizations and people that she began in 1999. Robyn loved people. “Robyn’s Table Chat” has a circulation of over 1,900 readers.

Robyn Leigh Docken will be sorely missed by her family, vast number of friends and her beloved community.

Robyn is survived by her brother, William J. Docken (Vickie Oanes) of Galesville and her sister, Lynita M. Docken/Delaney (Mark) of Trempealeau. Her nieces and nephews include Heather Docken of Corvallis, Ore., Jeremy Docken (Zarina Nadividad) of Chicago, Laura Roessler (Todd) of Trempealeau and Cameron Delaney of Lillydale, Minn. She has one great-niece, Ava Madelyn Roessler, and one great-nephew, Grant Nadividad Docken. Robyn is survived by her Uncle Donald Docken of Galesville and by many cousins.

Arrangements are by Zwickey Funeral Home of Galesville.
