Decades ago I wrote this poem and used it in my Christmas Cards.
As it turned out, over the last eight months, I have relied on it to keep my life a little more sane. It's nothing fancy, but thought I would share it with you.

If while walking through this life,
I see a stranger down-trodden with strife,
And I don't stop to lend a hand,
To take the time to understand...
Then Christmas doesn't belong here anymore

If walking by a tear-filled eye,
I, too, can't find the time to cry,
To reach out and comfort give
Making that moment easier to live...
Then Christmas doesn't belong here anymore.

If someone in their scheming guile
Needs to use me for awhile,
And I in self-respect and pride protest
Instead of putting their needs at rest...
Then Christmas doesn't belong here anymore.

If on the road of life's journey
The rights of others abused I see,
And I don't rise to take a stand
For fear of losing all at hand....
Then Christmas doesn't belong here anymore.

For Christmas is a quiet peace
Filled with love that will never cease.
Born to spread to every land
Until all can understand
God will always attend our needs
Giving us time to plant His seeds,
Building through the falling snow
A World Alive with a Christmas Glow.
